Who Raya KL this year? Kita geng! #teamrayakl

Selamat Hari Raya, Raja Pals! So you know the struggle, right? Work, family, the never ending to-do list – finding a place that fits this busy life memang susah sikit, especially with a good price point.

This Raya, we all tak balik kampung cause of hubby’s work so semua stayed here and raya dkt KL je for the first time in many years. Days before raya tu, jalan smooooothhhh gila! Road heaven guys hahaha. I yang biasanya would leave for work around 7:45am camtu pun this time round left around 8:30am baru keluar rumah. I kid you not from my place to the office tak sampai 25 mins pun dah sampai! (If only the traffic was like this everyday kan hahaha). But even though semua dah balik KL lepas raya celebrations pun, traffic is very much manageable la, jam tu standard la, but still not as bad as other areas. Every morning, hubby and I would usually take turns dropping off the kids at school and then straight to work. Paling lama stuck in traffic pun is around 40mins je so far, so boleh la.

Location is key, kan? YES. I noticed that BBR ni memang well-connected with highways, so getting around is a breeze. Usually, if you need to shoot down to PJ for work ke, family outing ke, will only take about 20 mins drive je if traffic is smooth, especially if we use the Lebuhraya Baru Lembah Klang/E1 route cause dia from the neighbourhood tu terus tembus masuk highway not long after.

And for your everyday essentials + barang basah, banyak je tempat you guys can pergi from here. Time raya tu banyak la juga kedai tutup but wasn’t really an issue for us sbb we went to the malls je to shop for the preparations since anywhere pun jalan clear je hahaha. In fact, initially on the first day of raya tu, we thought nak pergi solat raya dkt masjid besi dkt Putrajaya, but since tak sempat, we actually went to pray dekat the nearby Masjid Bandar Bukit Raja je, which is the same one we always go to for tarawih time puasa. Very meriah and rasa la best sikit sbb ada suasana raya2 kampung vibe. We usually come at night for tarawih so tak perasan sangat the detailing of the mosque but damn, it’s actually very pretty. But bear in mind eh guys, the mosque does not have a/c, but still okay la cause the ceilings were quite high so the whole space was still a bit airy most of the time. Cuma in the afternoon can get a bit hot je. If nak singgah to pray when you guys are out and tak sempat nak pray at home, I’d recommend for you to come here. Search je dalam waze or google maps, mmg terus akan keluar the mosque.

Tapi kan, actually pre or post raya punya traffic not much difference sangat pun for us yang duduk dekat sini. Also, if takut sangkut dalam jam and you guys need to isi minyak kereta dulu, petrol stations like Caltex and Petronas ada je bersepah everywhere, so don’t worry.

If you guys wanna know, these are the places we’d usually go to:

  • Mid Valley (35 mins)
  • Shah Alam’s Sunday fresh market (25 mins)
  • Sunway Pyramid (33 mins)
  • Pavilion KL (45 mins)
  • IOI Putrajaya (47 mins)

I pun don’t always have the time to gi jauh jauh, so say nak cari last min punya barang basah tu, I’d always drop by dekat the convenience stores around this area je like Pusat Perniagaan Ikhwan BBR and – 99 Speedmart, sebab you can get most of what you need there. Tapi if I’m not mistaken, banyak je lagi shops, but we’ve yet to explore la. Once we find more, I’ll update you guys dalam my next blog posts.

Senang cakap, no more pening kepala about traffic or long commutes, lagi – lagi since traffic has been crazy lately ni, entah kenapa. Asked my husband pun, he said it’s hard to say why. So yeah, BBR does make life easier for busy families like ours ni.

P.s. if you guys know of any other route we can use to travel around even faster dari sekarang ni, let me know tau hehe. Selamat menyambut raya and till the next post, Raja Pals!
